The Beginning...

Gate City Church, formerly known as Grace Fellowship Church. was started in 1984 by Pastor Paul Berube and a group of believers from the “Abbott Loop Christian Center” in Anchorage, Alaska. Pastor Paul, a native of Nashua, sensed God’s call to start a new church in Southern New Hampshire. The church met in various rented facilities prior to the purchase of 43 Main Street in 1989.

In 1995, GCC purchased the Greeley House on the Nashua River for administrative offices, youth ministries and the church’s counseling center. The Greeley House is now used as special housing for visiting speakers and missionaries.

In 1997, the Franklin Mill building at 34 Franklin Street was added to the GCC campus. This large facility, formerly the Nashua Corporation, is a mix of ministry, business, and housing and is the home of the Greater Nashua House of Prayer and the Nashua Christian Academy. Some of the space is also donated to local organizations such as the Crisis Pregnancy Center, Vision New England, and Willowdale Christian Counselors. In 2000, 55 Franklin Street was purchased and converted to church offices, a youth fellowship hall and several meeting rooms used for “Growth & Healing” classes. In the summer of 2002 the renovation of the second floor was completed and became the home of the Nashua Christian High School.

While we give glory to God for all His blessings, we are most thankful for each and every person the Lord brings to us. It is first and foremost people who make Gate City Church full of life and love. Worship attendance at the weekend services is about 800. We are very excited about what God has done in the past and what He has planned for Gate City Church in the future.
