Provoke Discovery

Elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery. Think about all the different things they are trying for the first time and what they’re learning every day, even how to make (and keep) friends.

How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them?

How can we show them God’s big story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure, to be more like Him?

252 Groups

When you see the word “basics” in the title, well, you sort of think foundational, essential, right? That’s what 252 Basics does—it equips kids from kindergarten through fifth grade with basic truths. In fact, when a kid transitions into middle school, we want that child to have experienced and own three basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52 (light bulb moment—now you know what the 252 means):

1. I need to make the wise choice.
2. I can trust God no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

These truths are reinforced each week in an easy-to-use curriculum that is designed to put your mind at ease and your heart into overdrive.

So that’s the foundation, but we do more than teaching three basic ideas. We also take kids into the heart of God’s Big Story.

The story of God reveals the character of God.

That’s why 252 Basics is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect His character to the world around them. And to make it easy to understand, everything is unpacked through weekly Bottom Lines—short phrase that are so easy to remember they can be reinforced at home throughout the week.

On the whole, 252 Basics invites kids into the Story of God, to show them the character of God, all while helping them internalize the 3 Basic Truths. We also throw in some unforgettable illustrations, activities, and graphics to capture their attention and keep it relevant. To top it off, you receive a new song each month to use during your worship or music time to give the curriculum that added depth. 252 Basics—comprehensive, but simple.

252 Home

252 Basics Groups curriculum wouldn’t be complete without parent pieces to synchronize the home with what’s going on at church. We call them Parent CUES because they’re designed to “cue” parents to leverage everyday moments with their child to Connect to God’s story, to Uncover something about life, and to Experience something together.

Parent CUE: Notes to parents that help them know what you talked about with their child this week, and to CUE them to continue the conversation at home.

GodTime Card: Kids’ notes to help children establish a consistent devotional experience.

Studio252.tv is a fun, kid-focused website filled with cues to help families grow in faith and character. Based on Moses’ teaching in Deuteronomy 6, Studio252.tv offers resources to help families connect at strategic times of the day—MorningTime, MealTime, DriveTime and BedTime—to help reinforce key biblical concepts through music, videos and activities.
